Warrior Leadership Summit

I (Ricky B.) call this day “snap day”. I’ve worked in the OEW/WLS office for 3 years now and it seems like every year we have that one day when someone snaps their fingers and things go into high speed until we get to WLS.

This year, “snap day” was greeted with an awesome cookout. It’s usually a warm spring afternoon when we have our office cookout but today as some brave soul went outside to grill some hot dogs, snow began falling.

As WLS gets closer each day, it’s great to have Emerald D. working in the office to help with all the preparations. The 2009 brochures just got in from the printers (thanks ice storm for the delay) and the first ones have been mailed out.

A lot of work goes into making WLS happen and sometimes, to be honest, I feel a little worn out by it, and then I think of opening day when we get to see all of our friends. It’s an amazing time, when you see someone at a distance and realize who it is. I often wonder if Heaven will be that way. We’ll get there and it will be like one long opening day, seeing people we’ve missed and haven’t seen for a while. That’s one of the things I love most about WLS, it equips people to go out and help others to have the Hope of one of those “opening days” in Heaven.
